[SIMPLE JOE]

JOE&DOUGH'S COMMISSION

A local coffee house called ‘Joe&Dough’ had opened up a new outlet at Plaza Singapura and they decided to commission me to paint a mural on a pillar they have in their outlet.
The concept for this mural is based on the different types of people that usually go to a coffee house for a cup of joe.

Year of completion: 2018
Medium: Acrylics on wall
Duration: 10 Days

It starts with the lady drinking a cup of joe while having her mind blown which then flows to the other three sides of the pillar.
Each representing the three categories I observed that goes to a coffee house.

First will be for the creative people which is to the lady’s left. This mural has more of a whimsical design to it as to show the weirdness is creative mind. Hence the whale surrounded by clouds.

The second side to the left of the first represent people who go there to socialize. I designed everything in pairs, showing a pair of a girl with foxes playing and having fun.

The third will be for the people that go there to study. Students often like to go to a coffee house to study while having a cup of joe. With that, I decided to paint a bunch of coffee plants representing the growth of their knowledge.
